Hello. I have a question. I thought that at least some of this area (where I live) is represented in Congress by Al Wynn, but for some reason I never hear from or about him. At the same time I was seeing signs and bumper stickers, and receiving calls and mail from other candidates, I never heard, received, or saw anything from Al Wynn. What's the deal? I am in the 4th, but don't seem to be represented by anyone here. On that same note, sometimes it seems like Wynn doesn't represent average people in PG and Montgomery counties. What is the deal? Anyone able to defend this? Alternatively, is there anyone working to change this? Thanks. George marylandprogress@yahoo.com A registered Democrat George Sat, Mar 8 10:19:58 2003 - 172.158.157.103 - message #42 |

Get ready because Nancy Pelosi will be the next President. It will be a good kick in the butt to all you right wing, tunnel visioned republicans. The DEMOCRATS will prevail......those who stand for what is right always do. Louise Thu, Jan 16 04:46:08 2003 - 68.55.167.18 - message #40 Cool links |

Maryland governed by Marylanders ! We threw off the yoke of royalty in 1776 ... let's do it again in 2002 ! Maryland does not need to be ruled from Massachusetts. Al Gore - I don't think he helped KKT's campaign. What a dork. TOm Fri, Nov 1 23:32:35 2002 - 216.45.66.212 - message #32 |

I'm commenting from a neutral perspective as far as the candidates are concerned and comments posted by various individuals about backing from the NAACP towards Lt. Governor Townsend. Both the NAACP and the KKK need to stop playing vicious games and stop stringing human beings up in trees. If these are the proposed tactics being used by either party then only a repeat of destruction instead of positive construction is going to occur. Lets support our candidates and vote accordingly without biased opinions and advance together improving our circumstances. I personal am a democrat and lean towards the Townsend party although that is always subject to change. I'm making decision just as anyone else but we must remember it's the sincerity of the candidates that count towards their causes and should be included in our voting decisions. I assume KKT will still favor a death penalty moratorium, even for the rush hour sniper who has hit the Washington area. The sniper may have had a bad childhood or may have been discriminated at some point. Erlich opposes a moratorium on the death penalty. Question: What is Townsend's take on "Smart Growth" as opposed to Erlich? I see him as being for uncontrolled development and her as at least talking a good "slow growth" game. Lea Thu, Sep 26 10:02:10 2002 - 66.208.212.170 - message #20 Cool links |

Having worked In State Government for 11 years, I can truly say Glendening and Townsend have spent more money trying to look good and justify their existance than they have on Marylands Natural Resources. Why would an administration full of PETA activists spend more money school lunches than an entire ecosystem? JD Tue, Sep 24 13:59:56 2002 - 66.240.1.50 - message #18 |

Hello, is there anyone from maryland who would like to know why the Republican Party won't admit to being down at Paragon trade brands in 95. Well Guess what contact the Governor of your state maryland and cast your votes now. I'm a Republican and they used me for mind control. Bob Dole I voted for him too, I didn't have a memory. George I voted for too, and my memory was incomplete. How much do you want to bet with what the democrats know that I could win the Republican Party Nomination in 2004, just because I have a right to sue the republican party. Just give the Lt. Governor a call. Bug her with calls she'll love it, tell her to read this message off her message board. Robert W Walter Sun, Sep 1 19:52:45 2002 - 64.12.97.9 - message #14 |

Ehrlich's voting record in Congress SUCKS! He received an F from the NAACP. He has one of the lowest scores in Congress from the NAACP. He is against GUN Safety. He voted against prescription drug coverage for seniors. He supports gambling. Need I go on. KKT's heart is not only in the right place but she is a the best leader for Maryland. I rmember back in 1994 and 1998 70% yes 70% of all campaign money was from out of MD. Those Kennedys have so much clout and are rich!! It makes me sick. It's about time that we have Ehlich and Steele two working class candidates working together to try and change MD for the better. In 2002 the Republicans will be victorious. As the Democrats say the rich are getting richer. Well I'm a Republican and I'm not rich. Your a Democrat and rich. I rest my case. GO EHRLICH and STEELE!!!!! It's shaping up to be a close race. Hopefully, KKT won't try to become too much of a Republican. If she stays a Democrat she'll win. Scott Sun, Jul 14 10:00:25 2002 - 63.208.223.145 - message #8 |

I agree and hope that Erlich can get enough support to win. Kathleen's heart is in the right place, I'n sure, but just being a Kennedy isn't much of a record to run on. David Wed, Jul 3 15:46:55 2002 - 63.163.231.200 - message #6 |

Don't know if her official campaign has started yet. She sure is doing a lot of fundraising for it, though. Scott Sat, Mar 31 7:46:23 2001 - 63.208.186.72 - message #4 |

I temped for Ms. Townsend briefly. (Three days?) It was a cool gig. She was head of the Education department for the state. The office was in downtown Baltimore in a very urban section (i.e., very black). I was hired to answer phones or something like that. She was in and out so that I didn't have a lot of contact with her. She seemed really comfortable where she was. That was kind of striking considering her blue blood background. I had one conversation with her. I was caught reading the Washington Post and showed her a Herblock cartoon. (Back then I liked Herblock.) She grinned but it wasn't her speed. There was a poster of her father in his finest appearance. (I think it is a famous photo of RFK. He's pictured with a black union type and the caption over top both says "It's okay to care" or something like that.) I thought that was rather cool, that the daughter of RFK was in the office. admin Thu, Mar 8 13:46:34 2001 - 209.25.12.184 - message #2 |
