Hello.

I have a question. I thought that at least some of this area (where I live) is represented in Congress by Al Wynn, but for some reason I never hear from or about him. At the same time I was seeing signs and bumper stickers, and receiving calls and mail from other candidates, I never heard, received, or saw anything from Al Wynn. What's the deal? I am in the 4th, but don't seem to be represented by anyone here.

On that same note, sometimes it seems like Wynn doesn't represent average people in PG and Montgomery counties. What is the deal? Anyone able to defend this? Alternatively, is there anyone working to change this?

Thanks.

George

Haha, Republicans are tunnel visioned!! That makes sense... psycho democrats can't open their eyes and see what their leaders are trying to do to our great state and country. What even funnier is democrats are too blind to see that their leaders get into office and screw everything up, then the republicans get in and have work their a$$es off to fix it. But then the democrats get in and take credit! Just like most of the lazy bums on the welfare system... no wonder they go hand in hand.

Get ready because Nancy Pelosi will be the next President. It will be a good kick in the butt to all you right wing, tunnel visioned republicans. The DEMOCRATS will prevail......those who stand for what is right always do.

After getting their butts resoundingly kicked just this week, the democrats are showing that they STILL haven't gotten the message. What other explanation is there for the choice of Pelosi, a liberal California female, for their minority leader? Get the message morons - people are sick of the left wing, protect the gay whales agenda.

Of course this only applies to you if you are:
- A welfare slacker
- A do nothing state employee
- A trial lawyer making money on frivolous lawsuits
- A reverse discrimination (aka affirmative action) advocate

Maryland governed by Marylanders !

We threw off the yoke of royalty in 1776 ... let's do it again in 2002 !

Maryland does not need to be ruled from Massachusetts.

Al Gore - I don't think he helped KKT's campaign. What a dork.

Just level the playing field and watch me take-off! Please stop offending me with another "social program" to help me along because you don't believe that I can work and make decisions for myself! I am calling on other African-Americans to stop, look and listen to KKT !! It's time to put that old way of thinking to rest!! What is it with this woman and gun control? She, like a lot of other Democrats, has the warped notion that if we take guns away from the general population (like Stalin, Hitler, and Mao did) that will solve everything. I certainly agree that firearms sales need to be monitored to keep them out of the hands of minors, criminals, and the mentally deranged, but to take guns away from EVERYONE is ludicroud. What will she and that idiot Connie Morella want to ban next? The Salad Shooter?!?! And as much fun as she was as Lt. Governor, can the state of Maryland afford her as governor. This may shock you female liberals, but having breasts is not a sure-fire qualification for public office!

I'm commenting from a neutral perspective as far as the candidates are concerned and comments posted by various individuals about backing from the NAACP towards Lt. Governor Townsend. Both the NAACP and the KKK need to stop playing vicious games and stop stringing human beings up in trees. If these are the proposed tactics being used by either party then only a repeat of destruction instead of positive construction is going to occur. Lets support our candidates and vote accordingly without biased opinions and advance together improving our circumstances. I personal am a democrat and lean towards the Townsend party although that is always subject to change. I'm making decision just as anyone else but we must remember it's the sincerity of the candidates that count towards their causes and should be included in our voting decisions.

I assume KKT will still favor a death penalty moratorium, even for the rush hour sniper who has hit the Washington area. The sniper may have had a bad childhood or may have been discriminated at some point. Erlich opposes a moratorium on the death penalty.

Townsend is a joke! She's real good at twisting what Ehrlich has voted for and said to make him look bad. Look at her campaign, her commercials don't even mention her name, all she does is try to make her opponent look worse than her, which is hard to do. Ehrlich did NOT vote for gambling, he voted for slot machines at the race tracks to keep the industry alive and keep that as a source of income for the state. Ehrlich is NOT against gun safety either. Townsend wants to rid Maryland of guns all together and take away our constitutional right to bear arms. Reguarding the other issues; Townsend already had a chance to do the things she claims she will and she hasn't done a darn thing. Ehrlich is a good family man who actually brings descent values in with him. Can't say much for democrat's in that area can we? Another odd detail: all you Townsend fans, did you know she's making money off her bumper stickers and signs? Do Maryland justice. Vote Ehrlich.

Note to the person posting about the NAACP's view on the candidates: Who cares? NAACP has become the equivalent of the KKK. If you want equality, you can't push reverse discimination. The only way the NAACP would vote for a candidate is by there skin color, exactly the opposite of what they claim to be against. Scary isn't it?

It looks to me that Lea is One of those good Ol southern boy's that hates Maryland so much like the rest of the anti-Maryland Demoncrap Politions that they would use smart growth(No Growth) to bring Maryland into deeper debt and suffering while their own home southern states(Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Luisianna, and Texas) are being very succesful for attracting out of state tourist(like Marylanders), Business Leaders, Potential Residential, Hightech Jobs and Mega Mall developers. They also enjoy the fact that now they are getting more freeways built and widen that they(Southern Redneck Politions) have fixed it where Marylanders will never see a new freeway be built after the Capital Beltway whitch was finished several decades ago.

IF Lea and the rest of those anti-Maryland Aggitator Demoncrap Southern Politions don't like to see Possitive Profitable Revenue Growth here in Maryland then keep your nasty opinions and those non-Maryland Born demoncrap politicians like Glendsh***y and KATO THE HELL AWAY FROM US Marylanders and go back to the South and Ruin your state like you Southern Confederate Flag Waving Rednecks did to ours for the last 35 Years.

Having worked In State Government for 11 years, I can truly say Glendening and Townsend have spent more money trying to look good and justify their existance than they have on Marylands Natural Resources.
Why would an administration full of PETA activists spend more money school lunches than an entire ecosystem?

I believe that she is a good and decent woman trapped by the legacy of one of America's most prominent political families. From the cradle, they are trained to strive, to win, to risk and to bring honor and power to the family through service and support of traditional liberal values.

She seems to have inherited much of her father's introversion and less of his ability to express her passions.

Deep down, I think she'd be just as happy in the long term doing service like Caroline, not living in a politcal malestrom like her uncle and many of her cousins.

I doubt that the hype is hers. It is the product of the Kennedy political machine.

You do not have to attack her. Just vote how you feel and live on.

In the May 7, 2002 issue of the Baltimore Sun, Alan Flieschman, Kathleen Townsends campaign manager said that she would be willing to debate O'Malley in the primary.

Well O'Malley did not run, so why wont she debate the only person with enough courage to run against her- Robert Fustero.

According to the Augaust7 issue of the washington Post she holds a narrow lead over Fustero. Is that why she wont debate him? Is it because she might lose?

Hello, is there anyone from maryland who would like to know why the Republican Party won't admit to being down at Paragon trade brands in 95.

Well Guess what contact the Governor of your state maryland and cast your votes now. I'm a Republican and they used me for mind control.

Bob Dole I voted for him too, I didn't have a memory. George I voted for too, and my memory was incomplete. How much do you want to bet with what the democrats know that I could win the Republican Party Nomination in 2004, just because I have a right to sue the republican party.

Just give the Lt. Governor a call. Bug her with calls she'll love it, tell her to read this message off her message board.

The 300,ooo jobs were all low paying service jobs. One of the main problems with this state is that outside of Montgomry County, Prince Georges and Howard, most of the citizens are in low paid jobs. That is why there is a housing problems(no affordable homes), people in shelters etc.

I saw this guy Robert Fustero campaigning in Baltimore the other day, he says he is the other Democrat on the ballot. He seems to have some good ideas on housing, and crime, tansportaion. I dont like his stance on abortion, but overall he seems to be a better choice that KKT

I rmember back in 1994 and 1998 70% yes 70% of all campaign money was from out of MD. Those Kennedys have so much clout and are rich!! It makes me sick. It's about time that we have Ehlich and Steele two working class candidates working together to try and change MD for the better. In 2002 the Republicans will be victorious. As the Democrats say the rich are getting richer. Well I'm a Republican and I'm not rich. Your a Democrat and rich. I rest my case.

Just what we need...another Kennedy in office. Do you know that there are over 700 Kennedy's in public office.....over 700!!!!! Do you think they are all qualified? Or do you think they are getting paid fat salaries because of their name? It is about time we had a Republican governor in MD! The last thing we need is another anti-military, bleeding-heart, liberal, give-everything-away-for-free, Kennedy as our governor. Please Marylanders....think outside the box and try something different.

I temped for Ms. Townsend briefly. (Three days?) It was a cool gig. She was head of the Education department for the state. The office was in downtown Baltimore in a very urban section (i.e., very black). I was hired to answer phones or something like that. She was in and out so that I didn't have a lot of contact with her.

She seemed really comfortable where she was. That was kind of striking considering her blue blood background.

I had one conversation with her. I was caught reading the Washington Post and showed her a Herblock cartoon. (Back then I liked Herblock.) She grinned but it wasn't her speed.

There was a poster of her father in his finest appearance. (I think it is a famous photo of RFK. He's pictured with a black union type and the caption over top both says "It's okay to care" or something like that.) I thought that was rather cool, that the daughter of RFK was in the office.
