Similies
You've probably seen others use smilies before in email messages or other bulletin board posts. Smilies are keyboard characters used to convey an emotion, such as a smile :) or a frown :(. This bulletin board automatically converts certain smilies to a graphical representation. For example, if you type :o in your BB post, it will automatically be converted to - a shameful face. The following smilies are currently supported:

:) smile
:( frown
:o embarrassment
:D big grin
;) wink
Common abbreviations
Here are some of the ones the author has encountered on chatboards:
TIA = Thanks in advance
LMK = Let me know
IMO = In my opinion
IMHO = In my honest/humble opinion
CMA = Cover(ing) my ass
CYA = Cover(ing) your ass -or- See ya
E-ME = Email me
FYI = For Your Information
LAM = Laughing at myself
YP = Your problem
MP = My problem
ROTFL = Rolling on the floor laughing
ROTFLMAO = Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off

Cookies
This application saves a cookie on the visitor's computer. At present, the purpose of it is simply to curtail the user from being exposed to links to adult services where this would not be desirable. However, in the future the administrator plans to save user-preferences in it.

No tracking is performed by the cookie; i.e., no effort is being made to determine where the user has been going on the web. Also, the information in the cookie is not being shared with any other web page.
